30 Weeks...

How far along? 30 weeks...only 10 weeks to go!

Date picture was taken: Monday, May 27th.

Total weight gain/loss: I'm up another 4lbs as of my May 15th appt.

Maternity clothes? Yes, but even some of those are starting to feel a little snug and unflattering. Some of the maternity jeans are getting tight and the cute, flowy shirts have lost there shape and, as Mr. says, they look like I am wearing a big bag.

Stretch marks? No, thank goodness but they have been on my mind lately. I think if I am going to get them, they will likely happen during this last home stretch. I feel a little better knowing that my mom didn't get them when she was pregnant...so glad I asked her last week...it keeps me hopeful. Fingers crossed!

Sleep: Getting a little more challenging. Not only am I getting up more often, I'm having a hard time getting comfortable most nights. Once I wake up, it's hard to fall back asleep. Baby is also quite active at night which adds to the challenge...especially now that her kicks and movements are getting stronger.

Best moment this week: Spending time with Mr. We had fun last weekend. I'm enjoying the time we can spend together, just the two of us, before the baby comes.

Miss Anything? Well...we had a wedding last weekend...with an open bar...

Movement: Yes! I find it fun to watch my stomach...the movements are becoming more visible and are pretty amazing.

Food cravings: Sweets still but as I get close to my "recommended" total weight gain (and still have 10 weeks to go!), I am trying to cut back a little.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Actually...a little queasy this week a few times...not sure why...maybe the headaches.

Have you started to show yet: Yes and really starting to feel "big".

Gender: Girl

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? Flat

Wedding rings on or off? On

Feeling: After feeling great for the past few months...which I am very thankful for...I've noticed a change this week. I'm feeling more tired and had a HORRIBLE headache a few days and nights this week. I just feel off...like I am running out of gas. I guess this is my body's way of telling me to slow down. I hear it's very likely that I will feel this way for the remainder of the pregnancy.

Looking forward to: Next doctors appt on May 30th...and getting the nursery done. Paint and carpet have been picked and will be done soon.

Next Appt: May 30th

Shower Outfits

I had the absolute pleasure of making a trip back to Michigan for two baby showers the first weekend in May. I had such a blast!
I'm still sorting through and editing the pictures from my trip. I hope to have pictures from the actual baby showers up this week. In the meantime, here is a preview of the outfits that I wore.
Thank you to Mr's family for planning the most beautiful and elegant shower for me on Saturday. Here is a collage of my outfit...

28 Weeks...

How far along? 28 weeks

Date picture was taken: Sunday, May 12th. It's been a crazy past few weeks. I apologize I haven't posted a picture sooner.

Total weight gain/loss: I gained another 6 lbs as of my May 1st appt.

Maternity clothes? Of course and feeling like I have no clothes to wear. My maternity clothes are great but I feel like I am wearing the same things over and over again.

Stretch marks? Still good and now applying stretch mark cream twice a day, morning and night.

Sleep: Pretty good...

Best moment this week: My baby showers in Michigan last weekend. I will do a separate post with pictures very soon.

Miss Anything? Caffeine

Movement: Yes and lots of it! She is a very active girl!

Food cravings: Sweets!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Have you started to show yet: Yes and getting bigger very day...and, strangely, I feel bigger in the afternoons and evenings.

Gender: Girl

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? Flat

Wedding rings on or off? On

Feeling: Still really good! I'm also so excited and happy! Other than the occasional heartburn and a periodic sharp pain in my lower back...possibly my sciatic nerve...I'm feeling great!

Looking forward to: Next doctors appt on May 15th...although the appointments really aren't anything major, I enjoy hearing the heartbeat and getting a few minutes with the doctor.

Next Appt: May 15th

24 Weeks...

How far along? 24 weeks

Date picture was taken: Saturday, April 13th, 2013.

Total weight gain/loss: I gained another 6 lbs as of my April 4th appt. I'm up 21 lbs so far...ugh! Thankfully my doctor said I am measuring perfect.

Maternity clothes? Yes, yes, yes!

Stretch marks? Nope but...hopefully this isn't TMI...I do have a number of broken capillaries on my chest. I hear this happens because of the increased blood volume during pregnancy. The doctor says they may or may not go away after delivery...I guess I will just have to wait and see.

Sleep: I'm finding it a little more difficult to get comfortable. I am now getting up at least once every night to go to the bathroom. I'm also finding that I am super tired by 8:30pm-9pm so I've been going to bed early. But then I am continually waking up around 3:30am and finding it hard to fall back asleep. I've also experienced my first "leg cramps" twice now in the middle of the night. Those are no fun! And my calf was literally sore for three days afterwards.

Best moment this week: Seeing my stomach move! It's so amazing! Mr. also felt and saw the movement this week.

Miss Anything? Hmmm...not really missing anything this week.

Movement: Yep!

Food cravings: Still on a dairy kick...milk, shakes, yogurt, cottage chesse.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No

Have you started to show yet: Yes and I'm really starting to feel big! I know I'm definitely looking pregnant because I've had a few people ask me...the lady at our dry cleaners and a few people at work. My co-workers have known for weeks that I'm pregnant but now people in other departments are asking.

Gender: Girl

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Feeling: Really good! I am trying to enjoy this stage as much as possible because I know it will only get more difficult and uncomfortable as I get bigger...

Looking forward to: Next doctors appt and my upcoming showers in Michigan.

Next Appt: May 1st

Baby is the Size of a: Canteloupe

22 Weeks...

How far along? 22 weeks

Date picture was taken: Sunday, March 31, 2013.

Total weight gain/loss: TBD...I have my next appointment on April 4th so I will have another weigh in then.

Maternity clothes? Yep...although I am still wearing a number of non-maternity shirts. Getting dressed in the morning though isn't easy...I find myself trying on multiple tops before I find one that looks flattering enough to walk out of the house. I am so thankful that my work has a casual dress code so I can wear jeans every day.

Stretch marks? Still doing good...

Sleep: Looking back after a few stressful weeks of work, I can honestly say the stress greatly impacted my sleep. I even had a few nights of relatively no sleep. I'm sure that's why I've been so tired on the weekends. I am trying my best to keep work at work and I am doing everything I can to stop the late night thoughts about work...although it isn't always that easy. The heartburn has subsided a bit...I think because of the slight modifications to my diet and thankfully that seems to be working.

Best moment this week: Well...I guess I would have to say I am happy we finally created our baby registry. While it is still pretty early, I have my baby showers in Michigan the first weekend in May. I knew the invites would be going out soon so I needed to get working on the registry. We registered on Friday at Babies R Us. I still may need to make some changes to it but we at least got it started.

Miss Anything? Coffee! After those sleepless nights it certainly didn't make things any easier when I couldn't turn to caffeine.

Movement: Yes! And lots of it!

Food cravings: Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and milk.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!

Have you started to show yet: Of course...and the bump keeps growing.

Gender: Girl

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Feeling: Excited and happy! And happy to report that we have a name. I know I've said we've had one for awhile now but we can say 100% we've picked the name and are sticking to it. We won't be sharing it though until the birth...sorry!

Looking forward to: Next doctors appointment which is in a few days.

Next Appt: April 4th

Baby is the Size of a: Papaya

Another Baby Pic...

I'm sorry it has taken me a few weeks to post this. Work has been crazy and the weekends have been spent doing errands and trying to squeeze in a little time for relaxing. We had our ultrasound with our doctor's office on March 12th. According to the ultrasound technician everything looked good but we will get our official results at our next doctor's appointment on April 4th.

I wish I had more to share but we were only given three pictures at our appointment. One of them is just evidence that it's a girl and really looks like nothing so I've decided not to post it and the other one Mr. has at work...I know...so sweet...he is already becoming a proud dad. :)

That leaves us with only one picture to share...

But isn't it such a cute profile picture?!?

19 Weeks...

How far along? 19 weeks

Date picture was taken: Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Total weight gain/loss: As of my last doctor's appointment on March 6th, I've gained another 7lbs...I'm up to 15 pounds gained so far.

Maternity clothes? Yep, I've taken the plunge and I don't think I'm turning back. While some of my pants still fit (barely!), I've decided that maternity clothes are just so much more comfy. Thank you, Danielle, for loaning me your maternity clothes! I think I would rather wear maternity pants then trying the belly band or hair tie technique that many other women have told me about. I completely understand why women try to wait as long as they can to begin purchasing maternity clothes...it's a strange mental thing...something about wearing maternity clothes is hard to swallow. I was the same way...I wanted to wait as long as I possibly could. My feelings on this changed completely when I was given my first pair of maternity jeans to try on. They were amazing! Flattering and super comfy...I am now officially hooked!

Stretch marks? Nope, thank goodness, I'm still good.

Sleep: Pretty good. Although I've, unfortunately, started experiencing the WORST heartburn a few nights this week. I am now trying to make a few adjustments to my diet and sleeping with my head propped up. I'm hopeful these small changes will prevent the heartburn from returning as bad as it did those first few nights. Additionally I had one night that I woke up at 4am because I was starving...and, yes, I actually went to the kitchen and ate a bowl of cereal. :)

Best moment this week: Can I say Best Moments of the week?? Feeling the baby move and actually realizing it was her was pretty amazing! Please see more on that below. I also enjoyed my doctor's appointment this week. Hearing babies heartbeat and being told that things are progressing smoothly is so reassuring. Additionally we found out, at our appointment, that we have received the all clear on the Serum Integrated Screenings. This tested the baby for Down syndrome, trisomy 18, Neural Tube defects and SLOS. In layman's terms this means we received negative results for mental retardation, spina bifida and physical birth defects.

Miss Anything? Feta cheese! In the past few years I have grown to love Greek salads, Greek wraps and other yummy food that has feta cheese. I honestly haven't been ordering Greek food because it just wouldn't be the same without the Feta.

Movement: As a first time mom, I hear it is a little more difficult to distinguish the first movements...and for the past two weeks I have been trying to distinguish whether I have gas or if it's the baby moving. I'm 100% convinced I have been feeling her move this week. It's so exciting!

Food cravings: I'm happy to report that I have cut back on my soda consumption...thankfully! My cravings for the past few weeks have been cheeseburgers. I've been treating myself weekly to a yummy burger!

Anything making you queasy or sick: For the first time during this pregnancy, I can say No. Yay!

Have you started to show yet: Yes, a little more each week. I've been wearing maternity clothes the past couple weeks, which I think made things a little more noticeable.

Gender: It's a sweet baby girl!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Feeling: Moody, on and off the past few weeks. Sorry to those that may have caught me during one of these times. Also feeling a little stressed and trying to get over a cold.

Looking forward to: Beginning to start work on the nursery.

Next Appt: Ultrasound on March 12th

Baby is the Size of a: Mango
