19 Weeks...

How far along? 19 weeks

Date picture was taken: Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Total weight gain/loss: As of my last doctor's appointment on March 6th, I've gained another 7lbs...I'm up to 15 pounds gained so far.

Maternity clothes? Yep, I've taken the plunge and I don't think I'm turning back. While some of my pants still fit (barely!), I've decided that maternity clothes are just so much more comfy. Thank you, Danielle, for loaning me your maternity clothes! I think I would rather wear maternity pants then trying the belly band or hair tie technique that many other women have told me about. I completely understand why women try to wait as long as they can to begin purchasing maternity clothes...it's a strange mental thing...something about wearing maternity clothes is hard to swallow. I was the same way...I wanted to wait as long as I possibly could. My feelings on this changed completely when I was given my first pair of maternity jeans to try on. They were amazing! Flattering and super comfy...I am now officially hooked!

Stretch marks? Nope, thank goodness, I'm still good.

Sleep: Pretty good. Although I've, unfortunately, started experiencing the WORST heartburn a few nights this week. I am now trying to make a few adjustments to my diet and sleeping with my head propped up. I'm hopeful these small changes will prevent the heartburn from returning as bad as it did those first few nights. Additionally I had one night that I woke up at 4am because I was starving...and, yes, I actually went to the kitchen and ate a bowl of cereal. :)

Best moment this week: Can I say Best Moments of the week?? Feeling the baby move and actually realizing it was her was pretty amazing! Please see more on that below. I also enjoyed my doctor's appointment this week. Hearing babies heartbeat and being told that things are progressing smoothly is so reassuring. Additionally we found out, at our appointment, that we have received the all clear on the Serum Integrated Screenings. This tested the baby for Down syndrome, trisomy 18, Neural Tube defects and SLOS. In layman's terms this means we received negative results for mental retardation, spina bifida and physical birth defects.

Miss Anything? Feta cheese! In the past few years I have grown to love Greek salads, Greek wraps and other yummy food that has feta cheese. I honestly haven't been ordering Greek food because it just wouldn't be the same without the Feta.

Movement: As a first time mom, I hear it is a little more difficult to distinguish the first movements...and for the past two weeks I have been trying to distinguish whether I have gas or if it's the baby moving. I'm 100% convinced I have been feeling her move this week. It's so exciting!

Food cravings: I'm happy to report that I have cut back on my soda consumption...thankfully! My cravings for the past few weeks have been cheeseburgers. I've been treating myself weekly to a yummy burger!

Anything making you queasy or sick: For the first time during this pregnancy, I can say No. Yay!

Have you started to show yet: Yes, a little more each week. I've been wearing maternity clothes the past couple weeks, which I think made things a little more noticeable.

Gender: It's a sweet baby girl!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Feeling: Moody, on and off the past few weeks. Sorry to those that may have caught me during one of these times. Also feeling a little stressed and trying to get over a cold.

Looking forward to: Beginning to start work on the nursery.

Next Appt: Ultrasound on March 12th
